41 batteries stolen from school buses

SEAFORD/LAUREL, DELAWARE (9/15/2016) Thieves removed 41 batteries from school buses in the Seaford and Laurel area, Delaware State Police said Wednesday.

The thefts were discovered when drivers arrived about 6 a.m. and their buses didn’t start at the Lambden Bus Services yard in the 10000 block of Airport Road north of Seaford and the Mary Bryan Inc. transportation services in the 30000 block of Dukes Road east of Laurel.

The two locations are more than 7 miles apart, police said.

There were 30 batteries removed from the engine compartments of 10 buses at Lambden and 11 batteries were taken from five buses at Bryant.

Police asked anyone with information on the thefts to call 302-337-1090.
