TOWNSEND, DELAWARE (8/5/2016) A stolen pickup truck was recovered by Delaware State Police after the owner saw an ad listing it for sale on Craigslist, and a Newark man was charged after he attempted to sell it, authorities said.

The Ford F-150 pickup had been stolen Saturday from the driveway of the owner’s home in the 500 block of Main St. in Townsend.

Later in the day, the victim saw the ad and notified troopers he had contacted the seller and arranged to meet with him to buy the truck for $5,000.

Troopers then called the person trying to sell the vehicle and arranged a meeting to buy it for $6,000 at the Delaware Welcome Center rest area on Interstate 95.

At the Welcome Center, 20-year-old William Ragin was taken into custody.

Police said he initially provided a false name. He was charged with receiving stolen property and criminal impersonation, then released on $1,000 secured bail.

The stolen truck was returned to the owner.
