NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (7/15/2016) A 52-year-old Delaware man wanted on murder charges was arrested in New York City, the New Castle County police said Thursday.

Gregory Parker was arrested Wednesday by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force after a tip was received through Crime Stoppers.

He is awaiting extradition to Delaware in connection with the Jan. 28 death of 47-year-old Shawn Spence at a home in the 900 block of Eider Court in the Mallard Pointe community near New Castle.

Police said Parker lived in the home and Spence was a resident of the 500 block of N. DuPont Highway.

Spence was found on the first floor of the home and had suffered significant physical injury, police said.

The death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy by the Division of Forensic Science.
