NEWARK, DELAWARE (5/19/2016) An armed man robbed the Rainbow Apparel store in the College Square shopping center, Newark police said today.
The robbery happened about 8:35 p.m. Wednesday at 361 College Square.
The robber threatened employees and demanded money from the register. An undisclosed amount of cash was turned over and the man fled, He also took their cellphones but discarded those on his way out, Cpl. James Spadola said.
The robber was described as black, about 5-feet-8, 40 years old and with a scruffy beard. He was wearing dark sunglasses and tan boots.
