NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (3/21/2016) A crash involving three vehicles closed westbound Interstate 295 late this afternoon, jamming commuter traffic for more than 90 minutes, according to reports from the scene.

The crash happened about 4:30 p.m. in a construction area near the Delaware Psychiatric Center, just west of U.S. 13.

The accident involved a pickup truck that overturned, a car and a tractor-trailer. One person suffered minor injuries but declined transport to a hospital.

All westbound lanes were blocked by the crash, with traffic being diverted onto U.S. 13. DelDOT reported all lanes had been reopened at 6:10 p.m. But delays were persisting.
