UPDATED STORY: Police identify Hockessin man killed by hit-run driver

HOCKESSIN, DELAWARE (2/28/2016) A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Hockessin tonight, Delaware State Police said.

The accident happened about 9:30 p.m. on Lancaster Pike (Route 41) in the area of Ace Memorial Drive.

Police said the victim was male and was declared dead at the scene.

The vehicle that struck him fled the area.

Lancaster Pike was closed in both directions as police investigated.
