Man ejected in Route 72 crash, seriously injured

RED LION, DELAWARE (2/22/2016) A 36-year-old man was seriously injured Sunday night when he was ejected from his vehicle after it crashed into a utility pole south of Red Lion, authorities said.

The accident happened about 11 p.m. in the 4000 block of Wrangle Hill Road (Route 72).

The man was treated for head and possible internal injuries before being taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton, said Sgt. Abigail E. Haas of New Castle County paramedics.

The crash is under investigation by Delaware State Police.

Delaware City firefighters also responded.
