DOVER, DELAWARE (2/18/2016) A 22-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint in the parking lot of a Wawa convenience store, Dover police said Wednesday.

The robbery at 290 S. DuPont Highway, at the U.S. 13-Bay Road split, happened shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim had just left the store after getting money from an ATM inside, Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

He was walking to his car and approached by a man who initially asked for a dollar.

“The victim pulled his wallet out and gave the suspect a dollar, when the suspect replied “Wait a minute, give me the wallet” and pulled a knife from his hooded sweatshirt,” Hoffman said.

The victim complied and the robber, along with three other males with him, fled on foot.

The robber was described as black, 25-30 years old, about 6 feet tall with average build and a light beard. He was wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Hoffman asked anyone with information to call police at 302-736-7111.
