UPDATED STORY: Suspect arrested in robbery of The Smoke Shop
ELSMERE, DELAWARE (2/8/2016) An armed man robbed the The Smoke Shop on Kirkwood Highway west of Elsmere, the Delaware State Police said today.
The robbery at 1706 Kirkwood Highway happened about 11:50 a.m. Sunday.
The robber vaulted the sales counter and confronted a male employee, demanding money from the register. The clerk turned over an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.
The employee was not injured.
The robber was described as male, 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-8 and 160-170 pounds. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, tan pants, white sneakers and wore a black mask over his face.
