16-year-old girl shot in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (2/8/2016) A 16-year-old girl was shot in Wilmington this evening, according to city police.

The shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. at Second and Van Buren streets.

The girl was shot in the cheek on the left side. She was treated by New Castle County paramedics and taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in stable condition, police said.

Police said they are stiil investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
