Suspect in critical condition after being detained by witness

BRANDYWINE HUNDRED, DELAWARE (2/2/2016) A witness held a theft suspect for police this morning and the suspect was in critical condition after suffering a medical emergency, authorities said.

The incident happened in the 100 block of Compass Drive in the Radnor Woods community.

The witness saw someone tampering with a car and apprehended the person, Cpl. Tracey Duffy of New Castle County police said.

After police arrived, the suspect was taken to Wilmington Hospital.

Duffy said officers are still investigating and other details would be released later.

She asked anyone with information on the incident to call police at 302-573-2800.
