Woman robbed outside ShopRite store in Bear

BEAR, DELAWARE (1/23/2016) A woman was robbed outside the ShopRite store in Bear on Friday, the Delaware State Police reported this morning.

The 64-year-old woman was walking toward her car about 2 p.m. when she dropped a credit card holder in the parking lot at the Governors Square shopping center along U.S. 40.

“The victim then picked up the holder at which time she was approached by a female suspect who grabbed at the holder and obtained the victim’s driver’s license and insurance card,” police said in a news release. The robber fled on foot toward U.S. 40 (Pulaski Highway) and entered a green vehicle.

The victim was not hurt, police said.

The robber was described as white, 5-feet-8 and with medium build. She was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
