Bear man stabbed in Boxwood dies of wounds; 2 arrested

ELSMERE, DELAWARE (1/21/2016) A 19-year-old Bear man who was stabbed Saturday night in the Boxwood area near Elsmere has died of his wounds, New Castle County police reported today. Police said they have two people in connection with the incident.

Everardo Martinez died Tuesday evening at Christiana Hospital in Stanton.

“Detectives have determined that the parties involved agreed to meet on Read Avenue. During that interaction, an altercation occurred and the victim was stabbed in the lower torso,” Cpl. Tom Jackson said.

While he said two arrests were made within 24 hours of the stabbing, the names of the suspects have not been released as police are continuing their investigation.
