MIDDLETOWN, DELAWARE (1/1/2016) A 54-year-old man was seriously injured when he fell while climbing a ladder to a billboard, authorities said.
The accident happened about 6:20 p.m. Thursday in the 4900 block of Summit Bridge Road north of Middletown.
The man fell about 15-20 feet, said Sgt. Abigail E. Haas of New Castle County paramedics.
He was treated for a possible head injury and flown to Christiana Hospital in Stanton by Delaware State Police helicopter.
State police are investigating the incident.
Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown also responded.
