UPDATED STORY: Pennsylvania man charged in Brandywine Hundred murder

BRANDYWINE HUNDRED, DELAWARE (12/3/2015) A 23-year-old man died this evening after a shooting at the Brandywine Apartments, authorities said.

The victim was in a pickup truck that then crashed into an embankment in the 2500 block of Jacqueline Drive, off Carpenter and Naamans roads.

New Castle County police received reports of the shooting just after 6 p.m., finding the man unresponsive in the vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds.

Officers performed CPR until New Castle County paramedics arrived. The man was taken by Claymont Fire Company ambulance to Christiana Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim’s name has not been released.

Officers with K-9s searched the area for a black man wearing dark clothing who witnesses reported fled on foot after firing the gunshots, said Officer First Class Tom Jackson, a police spokesman.
