2 wounded by gunfire at party

FREDERICA, DELAWARE (11/30/2015) Two young people wounded by gunfire at a party west of Frederica did not know each other and were not believed to be the intended victims of the shooting, Delaware State Police said.

The incident happened about 12:30 a.m. Sunday outside a home in the 4000 block of Johnnycake Landing Road (Route 12).

By the time troopers arrived to investigate the shooting, the two victims had been taken by private vehicles to Milford Memorial Hospital.

The two, ages 19 and 20, both had wounds to the torso, police said. They were treated at the hospital and released.

Detectives determined the gunfire erupted during an argument that escalated to a fight outside the home and struck the two victims as they were leaving the party.

Police said they had no suspects and asked anyone with information on the shooting to contact Detective D. Blomquist at 302-698-8426.
