Shots fired into vehicle in Newark

NEWARK, DELAWARE (9/15/2015) Gunshots were fired into a parked vehicle in Newark early today, city police said.

The incident happened about 12:25 a.m. in the first block of Westfield Drive.

No one was in the Oldsmobile sedan at the time and no injuries were reported, police said.

“Witnesses reported seeing a green sedan pull up to the parked vehicle and an unknown male discharged a handgun several times into the parked vehicle. The green sedan fled the area at a high rate of speed and was last seen on Casho Mill Road,” Sgt. Gerald J. Bryda said.

He said police found multiple bullet holes in the driver’s side of the Oldsmobile.
