Boater faces alcohol charge after Nanticoke River accident

SEAFORD, DELAWARE (9/12/2015) A Laurel man was arrested by Fish & Wildlife officers and charged with operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol following a boating accident that ejected him and a passenger into the Nanticoke River west of Seaford, authorities said.

After he and the passenger came ashore after the accident early Thursday, Matthew S. Cell, 34, was cited and released, pending an appearance in Justice of the Peace Court at a later date.

No injuries were reported.

A Delaware State Police helicopter and the Seaford firefighters assisted with recovery of the boat.

The accident remains under investigation by Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police.
