CLAYMONT, DELAWARE (9/6/2015) Two men robbed the Family Dollar store in Claymont at gunpoint, Delaware State Police reported Saturday.
The crime at 3605 Philadelphia Pike happened about 10 p.m.
All of the other customers had left the store, and as a 20-year-old store clerk told one of the two remaining men they were closing, the man pointed a handgun at her and ordered her into the office at the rear of the store.
He then told the woman to call the other clerk, a 54-year-old, to the office, and then the second man also threatened them with a handgun.
The clerks were ordered to lock the front door and turn over money from the cash registers, police said.
Both complied and they were threatened and moved back to the office. The robbers then fled.
The clerks were not injured.
Both robbers were described as black and 18-26 years old.
One was about 5-feet-6 and 175-185 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was wearing a light colored shirt and dark pants.
The other was about 6-feet-1 and 170-180 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was wearing a long-sleeved dark shirt and jeans.
