CLAYMONT, DELAWARE (8/22/2015) Gunfire struck a man, his truck and a home in Claymont early Friday, Delaware State Police said.
The shooting happened about 3:35 a.m. as the 27-year-old victim was driving a 2011 Dodge pickup truck north on Harvey Road near Jackson Avenue.
The man heard on of his truck’s tires pop and felt a sharp pain in his leg, police said, then pulled over and discovered the tire and the door of the truck had been struck by bullets, police said. One bullet went through the drivers’s door and struck his leg but did not penetrate and he declined medical treatment at the scene.
Police learned that the front door of a home in the 800 block of Harvey Road also had been struck by a bullet. Two female residents were inside sleeping at the time but were not injured.
