CLAYMONT, DELAWARE (7/31/2015) New Castle County police say a 20-year-old man was shot in Claymont this evening.
The incident reported at 6:47 p.m. happened at Pennsylvania Avenue and Mansion Drive.
Multiple callers had reported shots fired in the area, drawing police to the scene.
The victim was suffering from a wound to a lower extremity, Officer First Class Tom Jackson said.
The victim was treated by New Castle County paramedics and taken by Claymont Fire Company ambulance to Christiana Hospital.
Jackson said the man was in stable condition.
He asked anyone with information on the shooting to call police at 302-573-2800.
