Woman shot to death in Wilmington; 2 others wounded

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (8/10/2015) A 25-year-old woman was shot to death in Wilmington this afternoon and a 4-year-old girl and another woman were wounded, Wilmington police said.

The shooting happened shortly before 2 p.m. in the 400 block of W. Seventh St.

The 25-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, was found with a gunshot wound to the upper torso, police said. She was treated at the scene by New Castle County paramedics and taken by ambulance to Wilmington Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The 4-year-old girl was wounded in the legs. She was taken immediately by officers to Wilmington hospital.

A 51-year-old woman was taken to the hospital by personal vehicle, police said, with a gunshot wound to her left leg.

Police are still investigating and asked anyone with information to call Detective Thomas Curley at 302-576-3625.
