Man struck on I-95 in serious condition

OGLETOWN, DELAWARE (8/1/2015) A 59-year-old pedestrian was in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle on southbound Interstate 95, authorities said.

The accident happened at Exit 3 (Route 273) about 7:20 p.m. Friday, said Cpl. Abigail E. Haas of New Castle County paramedics.

The man suffered a lower extremity injury and was treated by paramedics, then taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.

The incident is being investigated by Delaware State Police.

Christiana and Minquas fire companies also responded.
