21-year-old man killed in motorcycle crash

DSP logoDOVER, DELAWARE (7/31/2015) A 21-year-old Felton man died after his motorcycle struck a car near Dover this afternoon, Delaware State Police said.

The accident happened on East Lebanon Road (Route 10) near Bay Road, just west of Dover Air Force Base.

The man killed was identified as Tyler R. Pack.

Police said he turned from southbound Bay Road onto westbound Lebanon Road and weaved from the right lane in between vehicles in both lanes and accelerated.

Pack, driving a 2005 Yamaha YFR, struck the passenger side of a 2008 Nissan Altima that was eastbound on Route 10 and turning across the westbound lanes to enter the ramp to southbound Route 1.

The impact spun the Altima around and it came to a stop in the middle of the road, police said.

Pack was ejected from his bike onto the road.

He was taken by ambulance to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Nissan, Poler M. Oliveros, 24, of Frederica, was not hurt.

Police said Oliveros was wearing a seat belt and Pack was wearing a helmet.

The road was closed in the area about 2.5 hours as police investigated and the wreckage was cleared.
