2 shot at traffic light on U.S. 113 in Milford; tips sought

Milford PDMILFORD, DELAWARE (7/23/2015) Two people in a vehicle were wounded and two others narrowly missed when someone in a minivan fired shots at their vehicle in Milford, city police reported today in asking for tips from the public.

The incident happened early Saturday on northbound U.S. 113 at N.W. 10th St., Detective Dwight Young said.

The victims’ vehicle came to a stop at a traffic light just after midnight, and a light-colored minivan pulled up alongside. Gunshots were then fired from the minivan toward their vehicle, with one victim being shot multiple times and one of those rounds went through him into the second victim.

Other founds struck the windows and seats around the two other occupants but they were not hit, Young said.

The minivan then fled north on U.S. 113 (DuPont Boulevard).

The two wounded were treated at Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital and later released.
