Fire hits Edgemoor home; $75,000 damage

EDGEMOOR, DELAWARE (7/14/2015) Fire broke out in an Edgemoor Gardens home late Monday night, according to reports from the scene.

Brandywine Hundred firefighters responded about 11 p.m. to the first block of Bedford Drive, with heavy flames and smoke visible from a townhome when they arrived.

Damage was estimated at $75,000, said Robert L. Fox, chief deputy state fire marshal.

He said said investigators are still trying to determine how the fire started.

Fox asked anyone with information to call the state Fire Marshal’s Office at 302-323-5375 .

The fire, which also damaged an adjoining home, happened in the same block as a shooting earlier in the day.
