Man stabbed, in critical condition; roommate charged

DOVER, DELAWARE (6/19/2015) A 39-year-old man is in critical but stable condition after being stabbed in a home near Dover, and the victim’s roommate has been charged, Delaware State Police said Thursday.

The stabbing happened about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in the first block of Webbs Lane, in the Rodney Village area.

Brian L. Hobbs, 48, for unknown reasons produced a knife and stabbed his roommate in the chest, police said.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.

Hobbs was charged with assault and possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony.

He was being held at Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna in lieu of $100,000 secured bond.
