1,391 bags of heroin seized in Dover; couple charged

DOVER, DELAWARE (6/16/2015) Dover police said they seized 1,391 bags of heroin today and arrested a husband and wife after an officer stopped a vehicle for having a broken windshield.

The traffic stop happened about 10:30 a.m. near Barrister Place and South Little Creek Road.

The heroin, weighing 20.8 grams was discovered by the officer and K-9 partner.

The driver, Gary Stanley II, 30, and passenger Ontara Stanley, 24, of the first block of Stevenson Drive in Dover, were taken into custody without incident, Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Both were charged with possession of heroin in tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver heroin with aggravating factor, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bond and commitment information was not immediately available.
