22-year-old killed in crash near Millsboro

DSP logoMILLSBORO, DELAWARE (6/9/2015) A 22-year-old Georgetown resident was killed Monday night when a car struck a utility pole north of Millsboro, Delaware State Police said this morning.

The single-vehicle accident happened about 7:30 p.m. on Mount Joy Road about .2 mile east of Gravel Hill Road.

Jasmine D. Andrews was driving west at apparent high speed on  a curve when the 2003 Ford Taurus lost traction and spun, then went off the north side of the road and struck the pole with the driver’s side.

Andrews was extensively trapped in the wreckage, police said, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Andrews was wearing a seat belt.

Mount Joy Road was closed about three hours as police investigated and the wreckage was cleared.
