MAGNOLIA, DELAWARE (6/8/2015) A 51-year-old Camden man was charged with a seventh DUI offense after a crash north of Magnolia, Delaware State Police said today.

The incident happened about 8:15 p.m. Sunday on South State Street at West Birdie Lane.

Philippe J. Koehring was southbound attempting a left turn onto West Birdie Lane in a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, police said.

He pulled in front of a northbound 2002 Toyota Prius that had a green light, police said, and the Pontiac was struck by the Prius’ front bumper.

No injuries were reported but police said a trooper smelled alcohol on Koehring and he was charged with a seventh driving under the influence of alcohol after further investigation as well as failure to yield. He was being held in Sussex Correctional Institution near Georgetown in lieu of $5,100 cash bond.

Police said Koening’s previous DUI convictions were in 1987, 1990 (2), 1996, 2006 and 2008.
