NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (6/3/2015) New Castle County police said Tuesday they are seeking tips in a home invasion last week in the Dunleith community near New Castle, where a 30-year-old man was wounded multiple times by gunfire.

The incident, not previously reported, happened just before 3 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Anderson Drive.

Two men, 22 and 30 years old, were in a bedroom when someone pointed a gun through a window and made demands, Officer First Class Tracey Duffy said.

The 22-year-old fled the room unharmed but the 30-year-old was wounded in the lower body by gunfire as he tried to escape.

A 53-year-old woman in the home was unharmed.

Duffy said the shooter was an African-American male with medium complexion and wearing a dark sweatshirt. He had something covering his face.

Tips also may be submitted anonymously through Delaware Crime Stoppers, which offers rewards, at 800-847-3333 or www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com.
