Two shot in Jefferson Farms near New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (6/2/2015) Two people were shot this evening in the Jefferson Farms community near New Castle, according to police.

The shooting happened about 7:45 p.m. on Powhatan Road at South Lunenburg Drive.

Initial reports from the scene had indicated there was one male victim.

New Castle County police arrived to find the victims already had been taken to a hospital by private vehicle.

One victim was shot in the upper and lower extremities and the second was struck in a lower extremity, Officer First Class Tom Jackson said.

He said both were in stable condition.

The shooter was reported to have been in a vehicle but no description was released

Numerous streets in the area were closed as police investigated the shooting.

Jackson asked anyone with information to call police at 302-573-2800 or visit www.nccpd.com. He urged any resident with video surveillance in the area to contact police.
