UPDATE: 2 brothers arrested in shooting

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (6/1/2015) Two of three men shot at the former Lancaster Court Apartments are in critical condition, New Castle County police said this morning.

One of the three victims drove them all to Christiana Hospital shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday.

A 50-year-old man and 21-year-old man, both struck in the upper torso and in critical condition, underwent surgery, police said.

A 23-year-old man who drove them there was wounded in a lower extremity.

The three were standing near a building at the complex in the 3900 block of Lancaster Ave., just outside of Wilmington, when they observed a group of men walk past them, police said. Words were exchanged and the victims followed the men until two in the group emerged from the building with a weapon.

The complex, long known as Lancaster Court Apartments, was recently re-branded by new owner Berger Rental Communities as Greenview at Chestnut Run. The change was approved by New Castle County Council in April.

Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to contact county police at (302) 573-2800.

Tips also may be submitted anonymously through Delaware Crime Stoppers, which offers rewards, at 800-847-3333 or www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com.
