Robbery try fails outside Bear pizzeria

DSP logoBEAR, DELAWARE (5/24/2015) A man tried to rob a pizza deliveryman outside a Bear business but fled empty handed, Delaware State Police reported Saturday.

The incident happened about 4:25 p.m. Friday in the rear parking lot of Marino’s Pizzeria, 515 Eden Circle – at the Eden Square shopping center off U.S. 40.

The pizzeria employee – a 49-year-old man – was standing outside the business when a man approached as the driver was about to enter the business, implied he was armed and demanded money.

The employee refused and the robber tried to reach into his rear pants pocket, police said, but the employee escaped unharmed. The robber fled.

He was described as black, 18-20 years old, about 5-feet-11, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a purple T-shirt, blue jeans and tan boots.
