WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (5/4/2015) A pedestrian bridge across the Brandywine Creek that provides access to Alapocas Run State Park will be closed for up to two weeks to allow demolition of a building burned in a fire over the weekend, state officials announced this afternoon.

The bridge from the Rockford Road area and an adjacent parking lot at the Bancroft Mills complex will close at sunset today.

During the bridge closure, park visitors may use parking lots and access points in Brandywine State Park and at the Blue Ball Dairy Barn in Alapocas Run State Park.

Investigators are trying to determine how the fire started.
