Attempted robbery outside restaurant near New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (4/28/2015) In the second robbery attempt in as many days at the Tung Hsing House Restaurant on Route 141, an employee was accosted as she walked to her car Monday night, Delaware State Police said.

When three robbers, one armed with a handgun, found she didn’t have any money, they fled on foot.

The latest crime happened about 10:30 p.m. outside the eatery at 505 E. Basin Road (Route 141).

No one was injured.

The three robbers were described as black males. One was 5-feet-3 to 5-feet-4 and 140-150 pounds. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, black pants and had the gun.

The second was about 5-feet-3. Police gave no information on the third.

The robbery try happened a night after an armed man tried to hold up the restaurant but fled only with a piece of furniture. A nearby Wawa convenience store was robbed earlier in the day Sunday.
