Gunman takes furniture in restaurant robbery

UPDATED STORY: Restaurant employee victim of attempted robbery in parking lot

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (4/27/2015) The Tsung Hsing House Restaurant  near New Castle was robbed by an armed, masked man Sunday night, Delaware State Police reported today.

The crime happened about 10:30 p.m. at 505 E. Basin Road (Route 141).

The robber, with a handgun, confronted a 33-year-old employee and demanded cash, but fled before receiving any, police said. He took a piece of furniture with him as he left, police said.

No one was injured.

The robber was described as black, 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-6 and was wearing a black sweater, black pants and black shoes.

The Tsung Hsing House Restaurant is a short distance from a Wawa store that was robbed earlier in the day.
