NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (4/27/2015) A Wawa convenience store near New Castle was robbed at gunpoint early Sunday, Delaware State Police said.
The crime happened about 2:35 a.m. at 531 E. Basin Road (Route 141) and was at least the fourth robbery to occur at the store this year.
One of two masked robbers had a handgun as they approached an 18-year-old clerk. He complied with their demand for cash before they fled. No injuries were reported.
Police said the robbers were black males and 15-20 years old. One was 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-9 and 130-150 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and black gloves.
The other was 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-11 and 140-160 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.
The same store was robbed on Jan. 31 and April 20, and a man was assaulted during a robbery attempt in its rear parking lot on Feb. 1.
Police have not released surveillance video in any of these robberies.
