Greenwood woman charged in Milford bank robbery

MILFORD, DELAWARE (4/10/2015) A Greenwood woman has been charged as the accomplice of a man suspected in the robbery of a PNC Bank branch who police said committed suicide during a pursuit.

The bank robbery happened April 2. at 655 N. DuPont Blvd. (U.S. 113).

The next day, police were pursuing a car believed to have been used in the robbery and a passenger, David Tyre of Harrington, died of a single gunshot.

Milford police on Thursday charged Ashley R. Reynolds, 31, with robbery, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, reckless endangering and conspiracy.

Detective Dwight Young said Reynolds was the driver of the getaway car at the Milford robbery and was driving the car during the pursuit the next day when Tyre committed suicide near Bridgeville.

She was being held at Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution near New Castle in lieu of $75,000 cash bond.

Police had earlier linked Tyre to two bank robberies in Denton, Maryland, and Young said his agency as well as Delaware State Police, Denton police, Caroline County (Maryland) Sheriff’s Office and Seaford police are jointly continuing an investigation.
