UPDATE: Police say man commits suicide in car linked to Milford bank robbery after chase

MILFORD, DELAWARE (4/3/2015) An armed man escaped with cash from a  PNC Bank branch on Thursday, Milford police said.

Police said PNC Bank robber fled in car from McDonald’s area.

The robbery happened about 4 p.m. at 655 N. DuPont Blvd.

The robber was described as 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-10, average build, wearing dark clothing and a black knit hat.

He was brandishing a handgun when he approached a teller, handing her a note demanding money, Detective Dwight Young said.

The robber fled on foot toward the McDonald’s Restaurant parking lot and left in a purple or maroon older model vehicle, Young said.
