Slouched over in Newark, 2 face drug charges

NEWARK, DELAWARE (3/5/2015) Two men found slouched over in a vehicle at a 7-Eleven store were arrested on drug charges after police found 173 bags of heroin, city police said today.

The incident happened about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at 235 E. Delaware Ave.

Officers were called to check on the welfare of the two men and found Stefano Saienni, 23, of the 800 block of Woodlawn Ave., Wilmington, behind the wheel and Bradley Hooks, 23, of the 100 block of Locust Drive, Newark, in the passenger seat, Cpl. James Spadola said.

Officers found 171 bags of heroin, a small amount of methamphetamine pills and $260 cash on Saienni, said Spadola. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance in Tier 2 quantity, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Saienni was being held at Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington in lieu of $81,200 cash bail.

Two bags of heroin were discovered on Hooks, Spadola said. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Hooks was being held at Young in lieu of $3,200 cash bail.
