Man gives ride from Fuddruckers, is stabbed, robbed

STANTON, DELAWARE (2/7/2015) A man gave a ride to a stranger who said he was having car trouble in the parking lot of the Fuddruckers restaurant, then was stabbed and robbed while driving on Churchmans Road, state police said today.

The incident began about 6:55 p.m. Friday outside the restaurant at 40 Geoffrey Drive.

A 34-year-old man agreed to give the stranger a ride and pulled onto Churchmans Road (Route 58) and was westbound near Route 1 when the stranger demanded money.

Police said the driver refused and then was stabbed several times in the upper torso and the stranger removed cash from his pockets before fleeing on foot after the car came to a stop.

The victim drove himself to a hospital for treatment of his wounds, which police said are apparently not life-threatening.
