CHRISTIANA, DELAWARE (2/1/2015) A Wilmington man was arrested on burglary charges early today in the Varlano neighborhood near Christiana, New Castle County police said.
Police responded about 2 a.m. when a suspicious person was reported in the first block of Dawes Drive.
A witness reported a man parked a vehicle and ran across a yard, said Officer First Class Tom Jackson, a police spokesman.
He said officers found Keith Roberts, 23, of the 900 block of N. Spruce St. in Wilmington, with a flashlight inside a parked vehicle.
Roberts was taken into custody and a large amount of coins were found in his possession, Jackson said.
Officers later found numerous thefts from unlocked vehicles in the area.
Roberts was charged with burglary, possession of burglar tools and theft. He was being held at Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $701 secured bond.
