NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (2/1/2015) A pizza deliveryman was robbed at gunpoint early today at a motel on U.S. 13 near New Castle, state police said.
The robbery happened about 12:15 a.m. at the EconoLodge motel, 232 S. DuPont Highway.
When the 22-year-old driver went to a room to deliver a pizza, a male occupant took the pizza from the deliveryman and then demanded he turn over cash and other property, Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale said.
The victim fled and called police. He was not injured.
The robber was described as 30-35 years old, about 5-feet-10, weighing 140-160 pounds and with thin build.
