BEAR, DELAWARE (1/27/2015) A teenager was arrested in connection with the robbery of cash and a cellphone, New Castle County police said Monday.
The robbery happened about 9:10 p.m. Saturday in the area of Scotland and Thornhill drives at Glasgow Pines.
Police said the victim had made arrangements through Instagram to purchase a cellphone and agreed to meet with the three sellers at that location. But during the meeting they took money and the cellphone from the victim and fled, Officer First Class Tom Jackson said.
Investigators identified one suspect, who was charged with robbery and conspiracy. Police are still searching for the other two.
Jackson warned that such transactions arranged online can be risky and buyers should pick a safe location and not go alone.
