Teen charged in burglary near New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (1/25/2015) A burglary suspect was captured after a neighbor called 911 with a description after she saw a man enter a home, New Castle County police said.

The incident happened Saturday in the first block of Arbor Avenue in the Overview Gardens neighborhood near New Castle.

When officers arrived, the suspect was standing in the front yard. Police said the man, later idetified as DaiJour Chase, fled on foot but was caught in the backyard.

A laptop computer, jewelry and other items taken from the home were in his possession, officer Tracey Duffy said.

Chase, of the 400 block of Bethune Drive, was charged with burglary and related counts. He was being held at Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $10,500 secured bail.
