3 hurt in crash near Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (1/26/2015) Three people were injured, two of them seriously, in a two-vehicle crash south of Wilmington, authorities said.

The accident happened about 7:20 p.m. at Rodgers Road and I-495.

New Castle County paramedics treated the injured at the scene before they were taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton, Cpl. Abigail E. Haas said.

A 34-year-old man riding in one of the vehicles suffered possible head, shoulder and lower extremity injuries, she said, and was in serious condition.

A 28-year-old man driving one of the vehicles had possible chest, abdominal and lower extremity injuries and was in serious condition.

A 20-year-old man suffered minor injuries, Haas said.

State police are investigating the crash.
