DOVER, DELAWARE (1/19/2015) Dover police chased and captured two suspects early today after shots were fired into a car with two women sitting in it, authorities reported.
Police arrived on North Kirkwood Street just south of Mary Street about 12:35 a.m.
Two bullet holes were visible in the driver’s side of the car but the two women seated inside were not injured, Lt. David Spicer said.
Officers spotted a gold 2000 Lincoln leaving the area in a hurry. Spicer said the driver wouldn’t stop for police and a pursuit began.
The Lincoln fled down Weston Drive where it crashed into a large mulch pile, he said.
The two men inside fled on foot but were captured a short distance away with the help of a K-9.
Brandon McDonald, 25, a homeless Dover man, and Tomas Gordon, 27, of the 100 Block of Sewell St. in Felton, were both charged with reckless endangering, possession with intent to deliver heroin, conspiracy and other drug and weapons counts.
Gordon, the driver, also was charged with nine traffic counts.
Spicer said officers seized two handguns, four rounds of . 45 caliber ammunition, $1889 in cash, 39 bags of heroin and bulletproof body armor from the pair.
Gordon was committed to Vaughn Correctional Center near Smryna in lieu of $119,008 cash bail and McDonald in lieu of $118,000 cash bail.
