Crash causes major delays on I-95; 4 hurt

CHRISTIANA, DELAWARE (1/17/2015) A multi-vehicle crash on northbound I-95 is causing major delays on both directions of the highway, according to reports from the scene.

The crash happened about 1:20 p.m. just north of Churchmans Road.

Four people — two adults and two children — were taken to Christiana Hospital.

One person was trapped in the vehicle for about 20 minutes until they were extricated by Christiana and Minquas firefighters.

Northbound traffic is only getting by on one shoulder, with all traffic lanes closed.

Backups northbound of 5 miles were reported at 2 p.m. with southbound gaper delays of about 2 miles.

State police are investigating.
