36-year-old man shot in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (1/1/2015) A little more than two hours into the new year, a shooting in Wilmington left a 36-year-old man in critical but stable condition, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 2:10 a.m. at North Locust and 13th streets, an area of single-story commercial buildings a block from Northeast Boulevard and near the Brandywine Creek.

Sgt. Michael McColley of New Castle County paramedics said the victim had been shot multiple times.

City police said the man was found lying in the street when officers responded and he had wounds to his legs.

The victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and taken to Christiana Hospital by St. Francis ambulance.

Police said they had no suspect information but asked anyone with information to call 302-576-3620.
